Children’s Law Center attorneys represent immigrant children who are eligible for certain humanitarian immigration protections due to past harms they have suffered, including special immigrant juvenile status, asylum, temporary protected status, and related federal protections. Attorneys provide holistic representation addressing an immigrant child’s immigration status, access to education and health care, and ensuring the child has a legal guardian. Advocacy is conducted at the Federal Immigration Court, before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, State Juvenile and Probate Courts, and in local schools. Immigration cases are derived from the Law Center’s help-line, walk-ins and case referrals from schools, youth servicing programs, and other legal service providers. The Law Center’s representation of immigrant children is supported in large part through a generous grant from the Cummings Foundation.
