Juvenile Justice/Delinquency

CLCM lawyers also accept court assignments in Essex County for delinquency matters that arise when a child between the ages of seven and seventeen allegedly violates the criminal laws of the Commonwealth. Children in Massachusetts are entitled to the full spectrum of rights as are adults charged with crimes. Law Center attorneys who provide this representation are certified by the Committee for Public Counsel Services to accept such cases, as well as admitted to the Essex County Bar Association Advocates panel. In addition, CLCM provides appellate advocacy on behalf of juveniles adjudicated delinquent or a "youthful offender."
