Other Cases

In an effort to respond to emerging trends that affect low-income children and youth, Law Center attorneys also provide individual representation to eligible clients in various other cases, including post-18 youth who have "aged out" of the state's foster care system; youth who have been committed to the Department of Youth Services (DYS) and have had their parole ("grants of conditional liberty") revoked; and, parentless immigrant children on whose behalf petitions for guardianship or care and protection need to be filed as a first step in a lengthy process geared to securing their legal resident status.
