Community Education & Training
Children's Law Center attorneys provide, upon request, free trainings and community education seminars to parents, lawyers, providers, and children.
Among the substantive training areas covered by CLCM staff are immigration, education—including special education, school discipline, IEPs, and 504 plans—child welfare and DCF matters, juvenile justice, and related issues.
The CLCM also conducts various "Know Your Rights" seminars for youth designed to address, and protect, their civil rights. Our staff has created and maintains in its offices and on its website community education brochures covering most of the topic areas in which trainings are offered.
